What this archive is

Third-party trade editorial about LW’s work, not LW’s own magazine. Sleeper, identity, Commercial Interior Design, Supper, Abode2, CEO Middle East, IFDM and Architectural Digest, plus one LW practice brochure. That distinction is the point: a journalist describing the fifteen iterations of the arch at The Dubai EDITION, or counting the 78 monkey lights at Media One, carries weight that the same sentence in a brochure does not.

Each published page is a summary written from the source, the facts the piece establishes, and short extracts with the publication, issue, date and writer named. None reproduces the article: the copyright belongs to the publisher. Full republication is a permission question for LW to take up with each title.

Recovered, downloadable, no page — and why

Three documents are in hand and served as downloads but were deliberately not given pages. The live site has 59 flipbook URLs that serve identical content; the rule here is one page per document with unique content, or no page.

identity, Issue 164, May 2017 — Media One Hotel Folded into the Commercial Interior Design case study as a second source: 320 words on the same refurbishment would have been a near-duplicate page.
PDF · 0.1 MB
Architectural Digest, AD50, 2019 A 4,547-word directory of fifty practices in which LW’s entry runs to roughly ninety words. It records the 2018 revamp of Toro Toro in dark woods, leather and patterned textiles, and describes LW’s signature as sophisticated neutrals, clean lines and opulent finishes. Publishing the directory would be republishing AD’s list; the entry alone is too thin for a page.
PDF · 4.1 MB
LW Design practice brochure, 2017 LW’s own copy, and out of date: it counts 60 hotels and 200 restaurants and announces a London office that does not exist. Useful as a source for project facts — it dates the Buddha Bar and Siddharta Lounge renovations, Bussola at the Westin, Tamba in Abu Dhabi and Raffles Shenzhen — but publishing it as current would misstate the practice.

The rest of the archive

24 documents across 118 pages were image-only scans and are now searchable: OCR recovered 19,830 words from them, and the searchable PDFs sit beside the originals. What they have not had is an editorial pass — nobody has read the output against the page images, and OCR of magazine layouts drops pull-quotes and mangles small caps, so none of this text is quotable yet. 5 further documents carry some text but under 80 words a page. No document in the archive is unreadable any more.
