In short
Supper covered Row on 45, the fine-dining restaurant LW Design created for Jason Atherton on the 45th floor of Grosvenor House, A Luxury Collection Hotel in Dubai. The numbers are the story: 22 covers, a 17-course menu, and three separate enclaves the meal moves through. The name is an acronym for “Refinement of Work”, referencing both the concept’s development and the floor it sits on. Pooja Shah-Mulani, Partner and Design Director, describes the interior as a sensory sequence that starts before the room does.

Where does the experience begin?
In the lift. Shah-Mulani’s account of the design puts the first course before the first course.
The experience begins with the smell of oak wood as the elevator doors open to level 45, to the flavours served during the meal through to the touch of every surface along the dining journey.

How is a restaurant made to feel like an apartment?
Atherton’s brief was that the room should feel like inviting people to his penthouse in Grosvenor House London and cooking for them. LW answered it with an eclectic mix rather than a scheme: dark timber panelling and leather wing chairs offset by fur-like wallcoverings and loose hand-tufted rugs, and objects that imply a person rather than an operator.
To add whimsical personality to the space, classical paintings have been reimagined as satirical artworks, while books and accessories have been carefully curated from around the world to further enhance the narrative of a well-travelled homeowner.
