Almalfi, Le Meridien Hotel

A contemporary classic styled Italian restaurant was created with a focus on strong yet subtle design elements. Critical to the concept was to remove partitions to visually connect the restaurant with the adjoining hotel lobby; this also let in more natural light to transform the restaurant into a bright renewed space. Inspired by the earthiness Amalfi cuisine in contrast with Italian high fashion; rustic timber paneling and axe cut logs are offset with polished black nickel wine cabinets and monochrome upholsteries. This creates an environment which is fresh, clean although at the same time has a chic undercurrent with a definite modern twist.
